Lake Rules
We really want you to have a great time at Lac Unique. So with these rules and common sense it will help you to enjoy your stay. These rules are for your safety and also to protect the fish and lake surroundings. Lac unique is clean, pristine, beautiful and quiet please help us to keep it that way.
Please make sure all party members are aware of and have read these rules.
This list may seem long but its due to anglers saying “It was not on the rules”. Lac Unique will not be liable or except any responsibility for any accidents, theft or losses how so ever caused whilst at the lake personal or otherwise.
- No access to the lake before 1.pm on your arrival date.... And you must leave the lake by 9.am on your departure date.
- Anyone under 18 years old must fish a double swim with an 'Adult ' Angler. Either... The Bays or The Causeway. Maximum 2 rods only.... No one under 16 years old is allowed to fish.
- No sacking of any fish any one found with a sack will be expelled immediately so please don’t bring them.
- No particle baits unless supplied by Lac Unique.
- No trout pellets as the name suggest they are for trout if used in excess they can be detrimental to the carp.
- Maximum of 3 rods per person and fished from the same swim.
- 12lb line minimum 15lb maximum (braid only on marker and spod rods).
- Rods must never be left unattended at any time.
- Minimum 42 inch landing net. (we recommend 2 just in case).
- Use large euro unhooking mats and safety weigh slings (or use ours supplied on lake).
- All nets, mats and slings to be washed in our dip tank before fishing and before you leave. This is to protect our carp and to make sure you take nothing back to your lake when leaving.
- All anglers to have klinik or similar antiseptic to treat all hook marks.
- All fish to be taken back to the water as soon as possible in weigh slings never carried in your arms.
- Bivvies & brollies only to be put up on shingled areas (please don’t put up on grass areas).
- All bivvies & brollies to be green etc no coloured camping tents allowed.
- Bbq only in our brick built bbqs (do not use foil types).
- No litter this includes fag butts, bottle tops, line etc all rubbish to be put in correct waste bins which are at both ends of the lake do not put empty gas containers in the bins please take them home.
- No fixed leads, death rigs, bent hooks, etc (your rigs will be checked).
- No lead core or shock leaders tubing is ok.
- No dogs, no swimming, no fires, no air guns etc.
- No non fishing guest unless agreed before hand.
- Keep all gates locked at all times.
- Only single hooks to be used for the catfish, no doubles or trebles, no live bait to be brought to the lake.
- Live bait fish can be caught at the lake removal or introduction of fish is illegal and prohibited.
- Bait boats are allowed rowing boats can be hired on the lake for use in daylight hours only.
- Life jackets must be worn at all times you use the rowing boats at your own risk.
- Abuse of alcohol or drugs is forbidden anyone in our opinion who is drunk or under the influence of drugs while at the lake will be dealt with and escorted from the lake by the local police
Failure to comply with any of the rules will result in expulsion from the lake.
Lac Unique reserves the right to alter, amend or add rules at any time.
